Advanced lessons, is a historical mail order correspondence course in the New Thought movement, and the law of attraction.  The New Thought movement (also Higher Thought) is  a spiritual movement that coalesced in the United States in the early 19th century. New Thought was seen by its adherents as succeeding “ancient thought”, accumulated wisdom and philosophy from a variety of origins, such as Ancient Greek, Kabbalistic,  Roman, Egyptian (hermeticism), Chinese, Taoist, Vedic, Hindu, and Buddhist cultures.  New Though is a  belief system, primarily based on oneness consciousness, and its implications for human living as it relates to the correction of thought patterns.  New Thought thought about the interaction among thought, belief, consciousness in the human mind, and the effects of these within and beyond the human mind.

Della Marie Pence, though relatively unknown today, was a master teacher, and compared to her contemporary New Thought teachers, she stands out in both simplicity and applicable teachings. Her teachings belong side by side with Florence Scovel Shinn and Neville Goddard.

INTRODUCTORY DIRECTIONS TO STUDENTS

ā€œIn taking up the study of Truth from the Absolute viewpoint, it is well for the student to be open minded and receptive in order to receive his own light as he pursues these lessons. Be as nearly like a child as you can. For the time being put aside the old ways of thinking and all the beliefs that have been handed down to you. Do not try to reconcile any of your beliefs with those given you here, but listen and wait for God to reveal to you the Truth concerning every point in this study. Treat often for wisdom, acknowledging God in you to be the Source of all wisdom, presenting to man ideas of wisdom or whatever he needs at the instant he has need of anything. “Your heavenly Father knoweth the things ye have need of before ye ask.”

Lesson Number One

HOW TO TREAT FOR A POSITION

Lesson Number One.

How to Treat for A Position

WHOM are we serving today? “He saith unto them. But whom say ye that I am?” (Matt. 16:15). This message is to you and me at this instant, and our interpretation or answer to his question is, “the Master whom we are serving.” Can we say, “I am the Christ the Son of the living God?” If we can, then we know the meaning of “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father” (Jno. 14:9) and on this understanding will we build our church (God consciousness), and “the gates of hell,” the false human sense of Life, cannot hurt us. “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatso ever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”ā€”Matt. 16:19.

Let’s ask ourselves the question, “Is the Christ to me ‘the only begotten of the Father,’ the very expression of Mind, that which bears witness to, or is evidence of, the Presence of Divine Principleā€”God?”

And do you realize that this witness, this Christ, this “only begotten Son” is yourselfā€”you, now, and that all  power  to bind and to loose is given unto you or us through our understanding of the Truth about God and His Creation, ā€”namely, that God is Mind and His Creation consists of in finite ideas, His ideas, and all exist in Mind, your Mind and my Mind, for your Mind and my Mind is your God and my God?

The Son, which, collectively speaking, is all God’s creation, is sustained by Mind; then we are all amply provided for now, and it can never be any different because Mind is always its own law of harmony and completeness to every thing that exists.

Mind is omnipresence.

Mind is the Father in action and this action is the Son, you; hence, “I and the Father are one.” ā€”Jno. 10:30.

The unity of Mind and its Idea is the high point you reach in realization by just being aware that you are continually conceiving ideas in your own Mind, so, do you not see that the revealer and the conceiver are one? In other words, the Mind that knows is the Mind that reveals and hears. Be still, be still, I say to you, be still and know this for yourself and you will have not only the keystone but the perfect foundation for the pure Christ consciousness.

Man’s acknowledgment that Mindā€”Godā€”is All in All, the only Presence and the only Power, means instantaneous freedom from the worst difficulty under the sun.

One teacher states that so-called evil began with  the Adam man. “And Adam knew Eve and she conceived and bore Cain.” (Gen. 4:1).

Cain was a murderer. Cain typifies so-called mortal mind which Jesus declared was “a murderer from the beginning.” ā€” Gen. 4 :8.

When Adam falls asleep in us, then the false human Adamic concept of the perfect spiritual Man has been entirely dissolved from our consciousness. We have then perceived spiritually who we really are. This is accomplished by prayerā€”practicing the Presence of Godā€”communing with Godā€”just letting God talk to us.

Blessed is he who gets himself so out of God’s way that he realizes this communion is Life, all there is to his life, and what a life of sweetness and peace he will express!

Because man is the image and likeness of God and never was of the earth, earthy, we are compelled to see that it is the Christ or perfect spiritual Man in heaven who appears to have fallen into false beliefs. “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.” (John 3 :13). And again in John 17:5 we read: “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine. own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” This prayer is the realization of the spiritual aspirant at the time of his ascension from belief in the existence of matter. “By man came death, and by man came also the resurrection of the dead.” (1 Cor. 15:21).

Spiritual man, then, seems to have to wake up from this apparent suppositional human concept of life and know that Mind is All in All, and All is Mind.

Let us consider the Old Testament statement of Isaiah 45 :7, “I form the light, and create darkness : I make peace, and create evil : I the Lord do all these things.” “They have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven images and pray unto a God that cannot save.” ā€”Isa. 45 :20.

There are two versions of “Lord” given in the Old Testament: one refers to Deity and the other to the Christ. “The Lord (God) said unto my Lord (Christ), Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” (Psalms 110:1). “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth : for I am God, and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:22).

All-Presence of Godā€”Goodā€”then, is the one and only standard we need look to or recognize to be saved from belief in matter.

Spiritual man is the Lord who appears to form the light and create darkness, to make peace and create evil.

Jesus taught that we “resist not evil” and to “agree with our adversary quickly.” The wise way to agree with it is to stand on our knowledge of God as the All- Presence and AllPower, and to playfully receive the adversary and its messages as opportunities to practice the Presence of God, knowing that his every suggestion comes to really chasten us and lift us heavenward in consciousness. We make the ascension either through suffering or science, but we do not need to suffer after we have gained the right understanding about God and His creation.

If we believe in another power apart from God, that belief will strike at us in different ways to hurt us. When we realize that all our troubles are mental, that is, our own false beliefs, we can meet them with a positive conviction of the Allness of Mind and find instant freedom from the worst difficulties under the sun. Our heaven and our hell are in our own consciousness.

The world is to us whatever we believe it is, and we have only to change our concepts about people, places, and conditions, thinking, of course, from the basis of unity of All in Oneā€”God. How to treat to get a position or employment. Turn in thought to God or your best idea of Heaven and deny the lack of employment in God’s kingdom, affirming instantly the reason why there can be no lack of work there : name ly, because there is only one activity, the harmonious activity of God, Divine Mind, always unfolding to Man the idea he needs at the instant he has a need.

There is always a perfect circulation of ideas in Mind, and this is going on all the time in perfect order and sequence. God is both the employer and the employee and God carries on his work by means of man, for God is the only worker, and God does all things by means of man. There is no mortal mind to operate hypnotically and say there is lack of work. There is only one Mind and that Mind eternally declares the Truth about God and His Son. Man is always in his right place at the right time, doing the right thing because of the perfect unity of the Son with the Father. Spiritual man in heaven is always divinely employed expressing God.

There is no fear. God is the only Power and Man has absolute trust in God. Man is the consciousness of God and knows and appreciates his Good as present now.

Treat something like the above persistently and you will make your demonstration.

Lesson Number Two

ONE-EYEDNESS

Lesson Number Two

One-Eyedness

ā€œThe light of the body is the eye ā€œ if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness. No man can serve two masters.” (Matt. 6:22, 23, 24).

“Let your communication be, Yea, yea : and Nay, nay.” (Matt. 5 :37).

Let us examine ourselves and see what position we are really taking. With the affairs of the world as they seem to be, there is the greatest need to see where we stand, for surely never did affairs seem to me more utterly chaotic, never more at the point to which Jesus referred when he said, “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.” (Luke 21:26).

However, that which seems to be and that which really is, have no relationship whatsoever to the man of spiritual vision. The world in its belief of discord and distress is but a dream, but back of the dream stands Realityā€”Good in expression, Infinite Mind always revealing itself as harmony and order in the world of reality and developing man’s consciousness of dominion over the whole earth.

No one would intentionally commit a deed that would plunge his fellow man into sorrow and trouble, and we little realize that a thought is just as powerful as a deed and bears the same fruitage as a deed.

We think we can get away with our thinking; therefore we attach too little importance to it, but the actual truth is that our every thought influences the whole world in some way. It is good to remember that not one good thought or word is ever lost and that it must bring fruitage after its kind. It stimulates us to more careful thinking and acting. Just what kind of a world are you living in? Remember, your world is your thought world, then you must examine your thoughts.

The world is all right, you know. Are we assuming the attitude, “Well, you know, the pendulum must swing both ways, or, everything comes in cycles and we just have to let things take their course” ? If this is our attitude, then we are bowing down to that false god called mortal mind, which of itself is a liar. It can not even know itself; therefore, it cannot know anything outside of itself.

Are you worshiping this false god? If you are, then you are binding distress onto your world and plunging your fellow man into all sorts of miseries.

Do you believe that God is the only Presence and the only Power? If you do, then you have absolute power and authority to straighten out what appears to you as chaos in the world.

Let us face this frankly. Examine yourself closely and see if your concept of the world conforms to the Absolute premise: There is nothing but God and His manifestation for God is All in All. Evil has no intelligence; therefore it has no course to take because it requires intelligence to take any course. You know why it has no intelligence, and so you give it none. “Judge not according to appearances but judge righteous judgment.” (Jno. 7:24).

We do this by looking through the realm of appearances where we appear to be many and divisible and deal with the realm of Mind and its ideas, the real world and the real creation. “The Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8).

It’s Good to mentally practice dissolving the whole world of appearances into Spirit and to do this it is good for us to contemplate the scriptural saying in Genesis : “In the beginning God Created the heaven and the earth, but the earth was without form and void.”ā€”Gen. 1 :2. If the writer of Genesis could turn to that without form we may do so also.

There is only one Mind and it is our mind at this instant. When Jesus said, “My Father and your Father,”ā€” Jno. 20:17 it is as if he had said, “My Mind and your Mind.” In Revelation John says, “The earth was clean dissolved.” ā€”Rev. 21 :1. This reveals the supremacy of Mind over all phenomena or so called appearances. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Cor. 10:5).

The Christ is the Son or True Idea which reveals to us the nature of God, and it remembered that we get acquainted with God by means of ideas.

For example: “Unless ye accept me (Idea) ye can in no wise enter in.” Man has spent nine-tenths of his time on person, place, and thing, and the other tenth trying to overcome the inharmony which resulted. In the old way of thinking man cannot turn away from the so-called mortal mind concept of life and see Reality which would release him from all sense of right and wrong, from all limitation, because he is himself captive to a wrong basis of thinking, and, thought after thought comes to him from that basis, binding him to those false thoughts which bear fruitage after their kind and this fruitage is all the misery and sorrow we see around us everywhere.

There is hopefulness in Paul’s statement in Galatians 3 :24, 25, “wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ …. But after faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.” All consciousness is built upon an idea, and to develop pure Christ Consciousness we must start out with our best idea of God. Working mentally from this basis, it will not be long until we have realized the true nature of God and His Creation to be Mind and its infinite ideas.

Take any idea, such as peace, joy, and so on, and constantly acknowledging either one or both to be omnipresent you will reach the mountain. top and the multitude will follow you. I mean that the multitude of material thoughts and beliefs will have been lifted upā€”swallowed up by Truth, just as turning on the light swallows up the darkness ; and the signs will follow, not just for you alone but for your whole world.

We never express any more perfection than that of which we are aware. The law is : “As a man thinketh.” You who are reading this lesson have, by reading it, evolved a higher grasp of the true idea of God and so one must go on studying and praying, for the light that is in you will quicken your understanding more and more unto the perfect day (Illumination). “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” How to Treat For Supply Supply means to each individual the thing that individual wants, I say the thing he wants, for we still believe we want things.

Now things are simply mental concepts of spiritual ideas or Substance. In Truth things do not exist at all, but insofar as our belief in them exists they are real to us. The only Substance aman has is his knowledge of God. Take any difficulty that is common to most men, the lack of money for instance. Examine your own thoughts to see why you have not enough money. Having found the evil, turn, in thought to God and realize that in heaven with God the conditions you have just uncovered in your own thought could not exist. (You will have found that you were harboring thoughts of lack). Then realize the conditions that do exist in heaven ā€” absolute order and harmony ; continuous activity; infinite ideas proceeding constantly from God to man, instantly available at all times and so on. Continue to do this, never permitting yourself to return to your former train of thought, and you will soon so purify your consciousness that you will look into the world and see the fullness of supply. “As it is in heaven, so is it also in the earth,” and there is no power to suggest anything but the Presence of God. Give thanks continuously because of Man’s unity with the Father. Trust the Divine Principle.

It is God’s business to take care of us but He works for us through us, so our thoughts must conform to the one standard. There is nothing but God and His manifestation.

Your power to cognize and accept your ideas is the same omnipotent power that reveals them to you,and this power is undefeatable because it is God Almighty! Students are advised to contemplate the above statement until they reach a conviction of its powerful meaning; thereafter you will never doubt nor be impatient with your Principle.

A perfect momentum, unbreakable in sequence, of the expression of your good will in this way becomes established for you, and your worries will all be over.

Lesson Number Three

TODAY’S NECESSITY FOR RIGHT THINKING

Lesson Number Three

Today’s Necessity for Right Thinking

We Are today in the period of time when all Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled, and all Biblical prophecy is computed to end in 1935. The Great Pyramid of Egypt mathematically calculates this date of the end as 1936.

Thus the chronological time for the ending of this belief in the existence of matter, according to both Bible chronology and the Great Pyramid, is from 1934 to 1936. These are the days Jesus referred to when he spoke of seeing Satan, the abomination of desolation, standing “in the holy place” and when, as Paul puts it, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph. 6:12).

In other words, these are the days when man appears to be hypnotized by his false beliefs.

This is the time when Jesus said, “And then shall the end come.” (Matt. 24:14). “For this purpose the Son of God (spiritual perception) was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil” (mortal mind beliefs). (John 3:8).

On the first page of the Bible is the declaration that God gave man dominion over all the earth. If this is true we ought to have dominion over our body, our business, our household, our affairs, our environments, our circumstances, our condition.

Fortunately, we have absolute dominion over all evil, over every sense of want, moral, mental, and physical. We have to acquaint ourselves with the nature of these false claims of error and be spiritually alert. There is no mortal mind to suggest that there is any presence or power outside of God, and how could there be for where would it be, since God is the All presence in all and through all. What is it that is back of all banditry and crime? Is it not in reality a desire to gain or get something that the mortal believes he has not? Oh, waste of time, for we have nothing to get nor to gain for all that is, is ours now as our true birthright because “Now are we the Sons of God.” The true remedy for all this useless false searching and seeking is the understanding that the divine Mind, being all, includes within itself all good, and that infinite good means good for all, satisfaction for all, with no desire left unfulfilled. And this Mind  is the Mind of every man.

Mind is not divisible; therefore, do you not see that your limit less good is present now in your own Mind? If you see this you will realize that you’re seeking and searching outside of Mind is all over and you will have fulfilled the scriptural say ing in Joel 2:25, 26, “And I will restore to you the years that the locusts hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God.”

Now Mind is no respecter of persons, neither could it be, for it does not know persons; it knows only itself as the life, the spirit of all existence, and this is what the Psalmist meant when he said, “God openeth his hand and satisfieth the desire of every living thing.” (Psalms 145:16).

With this realization in consciousness, what has become of the bandit, the murderer, the drunkard, and all evil ? Why, you realize that they were only false thoughts trying to attack your consciousness; rather, I should say they were only so-called false thoughts trying to enthrone themselves in your consciousness, for, be it remembered, there is no so-called mortal mind to suggest evil thoughts, so the bandit and all forms of evil disappear as such. The saint and the sinner are swallowed up in Godā€”that is, we lose sight of our concepts that we humanly named saints and sinners and behold “the only begotten Son of the Father” full of glory and of light. We can not behold God and the bandit or drunkard both, for our standard of practice is : God is the only Presence. Beloved, this is the conviction that gives you dominion over all the earth and the power to heal all manner of disease and sickness.

Now, do you not see that the world is your worldā€”not something apart from you? The conditions appearing in the world are absolutely under the government of your understanding.

Because there is only one Mind and this Mind is your Mind it is self-evident that you hold the government in your hands. This ” government” is not something apart from you. It is your own consciousness.

Let us examine our consciousness and then let us determine its nature and strength, for your consciousness and mine embrace all the world means to us. In other words, your affairs and your body reflect your consciousness and if there is discord anywhere we must correct it in consciousness always using the same Principle : There is nothing but Godā€”Goodā€”Infinite Mind.

Does your spiritual perception permit you to declare that there is no material universe, that there is only God’s world of Spiritā€”Mind ā€”and this world of Reality is ruled and governed by God the Principle of all Law and all Order?

Can you say this with absolute conviction? Well, then, your treatment at that instant becomes a law of good to the world, your world.

There are today millions of Truth students throughout the world who are treating after this manner and that alone is the power that is now bringing peace and harmony upon the earth.

Since the metaphysician’s work begins and ends in his own consciousness, whether he is treating to help an individual or the world, it is very important to know the why of this. Take the premise, All is Mind in action. Mind can only deal with thought. Mind and things as things are forever unknown to each other. So we reduce everything that appears to us to the basis of consciousness, the one common denominator. You must find it as thought or it cannot be handled. Now do you not see that a scientific practitioner does not deal with people, conditions, disease, or evil as such in any form because he knows the Truth about it,ā€”namely, that every false appearance, no matter what the world or the doctor calls it, is only a false state of consciousness or false belief that is showing up; and your knowledge that All isGod in action will instantly dissolve the false belief and that is all there is to it?

The signs that follow are what we call our demonstrations. This is true divine healing and always works. “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:17, 18). “And the things that I do, ye shall do also and

greater things than these shall ye do because I Go unto the Father.”ā€”Jno. 14:12.

How to Treat to Increase Your Business

God is the only Presence, everywhere present as Mind in action, and this action or activity is the ceaseless unfolding of ideas from Mind to individual consciousness, so that man has at the instant every idea he needs, when he has a need of anything.

There is always a perfect circulation of ideas going on in Mind, idea after idea unfolding to man in perfect order and sequence because Love is the Principle that governs this circulation of ideas. Man is not material and in need of material things.

Man is spiritual and is sustained by spiritual ideas, so man never needs anything but the right idea and this is always present. Man is the Consciousness of God and his power to cognize the right idea is God ; therefore, all power is given unto him to cognize his infinite immediate All-Good. Man has no material business. There is one activity. God’s business is eternally perfect and complete and He carries on His business by means of man.

There is no so-called mortal mind to sug gest stagnation in God’s activity. God’s Mind is the only Mind there is and this Mind is its own Law of Harmony to everything that exists. God Almighty speaks the Truth about His own activity and these statements are true and cannot be changed nor reversed. “The mouth of the Lord hath spoken this,” for only God speaks Truth and Truth is God. The Knower, the Speaker and the Hearer are One!

“The Son can do nothing of himself but what He seeth the Father do, that doeth the Son also in like manner.”

Lesson Number Four

THE ABSOLUTE SCIENCE OF THE GOLDEN RULE

Lesson Number Four

The Absolute Science of the Golden Rule

Man is the means by which God is conscious of himself. Therefore man is perfect, not “will be.”

It is blasphemy to try to make a demonstration by trying to make man perfect.

Perfection is the Truth about every man, but cannot be perceived until we turn to God as perfection. When we turn away from the realm of appearance and put God first, we see Reality and do away with the realm of divisibility.

The practice of putting God first causes the Christ (idea) which is always present in consciousness to open our understanding so that we spiritually perceive our true identity and at the same time see the absolute non-existence of a mind that could suggest anything opposite to perfection. What blesses one, blesses all, because of the indivisible nature of all the universe. If you think the reverse it will be reflected back to you.

The perception of the unity of all in One would reveal the Golden Rule in its Absolute light.

It would be impossible for man to do. Therefore, man is to another what is not being done to himself.

Then we would see the Truth of Christ’s saying:

“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these, ye have done it unto me.”

“As ye would that others should do unto you, do ye even so unto them.”ā€”Matt. 7:12.

This latter is the Golden Rule and it is the very epitome of the Christ doctrine.

Everything which man does reveals his understanding of life. If we are tempted to judge, we are condemning ourselves by means of another. We can not indulge in self-condemnation and be at peace. We will appear to see disease. Treatment lifts us above condemnation for we turn in thought and acknowledge God to be All in all.

What you perceive for yourself, you perceive for all. This is true perception. This is knowing the Truth about Life. “They of your own household are your enemies.”ā€”Matt. 10:36.

The heresy of belief in divisibility is the strong man “that stands between you and your expression of All Good, because this false belief takes your thought from God. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth thee.ā€”Isa. 26:3.

They of your own  household “are your own false concepts, mistaken views about life and the forces and factors that come to you for your own good. So, all problems and difficulties exist nowhere but in your own mind and their common denominator is thought. If a thought disturbs or worries you, then it is a wrong thought and must be cast out of consciousness and replaced by your idea of heaven until every thought is brought captive to the obedience of Christ (idea). If you do not make God practical and find Him as your very own Mind, how will you ever speak with power and authority? Remember again, the only thing that stops you from making God (Mind) All-in- All is your indulgence in the human sense concept of things and that indulgence stops your perfect trust in God as All-in-All.

Let us resolve this minute to be prompt and quick to speak with power and authority whether the appearance is world-wide or individual, and we will see that evil of every name and nature will disappear. Then we shall not deny disease as such or a problem as a problem, but we shall vehemently deny the existence of a so-called mortal mind that could suggest any form of evil.

“To him that hath shall be given, and to him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.”

You say you have not the money with which to do certain things. To whom are you listening and why do you listen to this lie? Is it not better to realize that Mind, embracing within itself all being, includes all money?

You say this in regard to health. Perhaps it is easier to look to God for health than it is to look to Him for money, but it should not be, because the life, the Essence, the Substance of all existence is Mind.

No matter what you are calling the symbolā€”money, homes, cars, or anything elseā€”you can never separate the symbol from that which it symbolizes for symbol and idea are not two things. We may say that they are two sides of the one thing. Now, whose Mind is it that includes the real money, the real home, the real cars, and other things? Why, it is your Mind right now, infinite, limitless, and omnipresent, all enfolding, all-embracing, All Good, and the nature of this Good consists of the presence of infinite ideas in infinite varieties and combinations, always unfolding to man’s consciousness in perfect order, with perfect regularity and at the right time so that man always has the ideas he needs at the instant he needs anything.

These eternal verities are all available for everyone. “The press is full, the vats overflow,” said Joel.

Not until it dawns upon man that his real being is spiritual, can he in any wise prove God. When one evolves the true idea of God it is to perceive his own true identity and to know that he is in the Father (Mind) and the Father (Mind) is in him. “To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” ā€”Rom. 8 :6. To be spiritually minded is to be health minded and wealth minded, to know that “the Father and the Son are one”ā€”Mind in expression.

Now, do you not see that man has to be healed of the belief that he must work for a living and that if he does not have a job he can not live? Man as the expression of Mind is governed by the activity of Mind, and is in Mind; therefore, he is always in his right place, has his right position, and is ever divinely employed expressing God.

Man really does not have to work for a living any more than God has to work for a living. His income is established for ever, and that income is what Jesus called the “well of water within you springing up into everlasting life.” As a metaphysician you know that because you are dealing with God, and God alone, as the All-Presence, that which appears to you as any suppositional opposite to Good, such as persons, places, conditions and circumstances, is really not such, but is simply the interpretation you ascribe to the one and only Presence in action. “I am the Lord thy God (your Mind) and beside me there is none else.” Your Mind is your God ; your Mind is omnipresent ; your Mind is infinite Absolute Good and there can be nothing outside of your Mind.

Should not our prayer be, “Lord that I may receive my sight,” the sight that will enable us to spiritually discern the Truth of our being and rid ourselves of the so-called human sense belief about lifeā€””the veil that is spread over all nations” ā€”the mist or misunderstanding of Truth? Beloved, Jesus Christ destroyed this veil for us. He is still our Way-shower and His Way is found in the four Gospels of the New Testament. He also taught us how to pray. “When thou prayest enter into thy secret closet and close the door and pray to your Father in secret and the Father that heareth in secret shall reward you openly.” ā€”Matt. 6:6.

You enter your “secret closet” by turning in thought and acknowledging the supreme Allness of the one Mind (your Father). This mental action on your part opens the door to your Good for it establishes your contact with the Infinite Source of Infinite Good and your open reward will be revealed to you as the idea or group of ideas needed at that instant. “All good and perfect gifts come down from above from the Father of lights (ideas) in whom is neither variableness nor shadow of changing.” (James 1 :17).

Your power to accept or reject ideas is supreme and the Law is : Whatever we accept in consciousness bears evidence in manifestation, and that which we refuse to accept we can never express.

Lesson Number Five

WHY WE FAIL TO PROVE GOD AS OUR SUPPLY

Lesson Number Five

Why We Fail to Prove God as Our Supply

James declares that we “ask and receive not because we ask amiss that we might consume it upon our lusts.” ā€”Jas. 4:3.

Now “lust” means looking outside of yourself for something, working from the so-called human sense basis which is false. “I of myself can do nothing.” We read in Isaiah that, “before they call T will answer ; and while they are yet speaking I will hear.” And Jesus said: “Whatsoever things ye desire, when ye pray believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them.”ā€”Matt. 21 22.

Another well-known teacher says: “The abundance of your consciousness of the presence of God is your instantaneous supply.” Many complain that they are unable to demonstrate supply. In more ways than you are probably aware, they are as “a house divided against itself.”ā€”Matt. 12 :25.

Treating or affirming for the purpose of bringing about something in the way of a demonstration and all the while believing in evil as a power to hurt you or deprive you of your good is one way of “asking amiss” and, of course, you will not make your demonstration.

You must know evil for what it is not. The true analysis of evil, whether it shows up as lack of supply or lack of any other good thing, must be seen to be what Paul called, “our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.” For the sake of argument let us contemplate the meaning of the term, “schoolmaster,” and we shall find, from our past experience, that we were placed under a schoolmaster for the sole purpose of instruction and discipline, to mold character and to make us in all ways proficient in the rules of ethics and the sciences.

His motive was constructive training, so we could not call him evil, could we, even though his discipline was at times most severe and not at all to our liking; yet none of us regret our school education. And so, all the human sense concepts of life that go to make what the world calls evil are truly what Paul called “our schoolmaster, to bring us to Christ.” But this “schoolmaster” is a state of consciousness and one over which we have dominion when we know the Truth. He dominates us until we know the Truth. The only office of “evil” is helpfulness; then we must change its name and call it a factor that goads us into acknowledging God as the only presence and the only power. The so-called trials and tribulations of life are truly our friends when we react to them with spiritual understanding, for every time we meet a false concept (difficulty or problem) with our acknowledgment of the Truth, we have progressed one more step toward perfecting our consciousness.

This is actively practicing the Presence of God, and by and by we consciously become the very Presence of God ! Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent and All-inclusive. You will never demonstrate much of anything good until your consciousness of God’s presence overbalances your human sense concepts of duality, divisibility, and separation.

The reason for this is that Mind, your Mind, your God, works inductively, that is, according to your acceptance. You have to boldly take command of every situation in life with your Principle; naturally you must know for what your Principle stands. “I am the Lord thy God and beside me there is none else.” “Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.” Be loved, let us not waste time in self-justification, blaming world conditions, politics, and a hundred and one other things.

You are the only one you have to deal with, and the only place you ever have to go to right all wrongs is with in your own consciousness and there your work of redemption and purification begins and ends, working, of course, from the basis that God is All-in-All, all-inclusive, all-embracing, all-enfolding, even to the tiny blade of grass, as the Infinite Spirit, Intelligence, Mind, Sub stance, and Soul of Being.

Truth is not to be used as a soothing syrup, but as a sword to separate you from your old false beliefs for we are told that we can not put new wine into old bottles.”ā€”Matt. 9:17. “Loose him and let him go,” Jno. 11:44, was the command Jesus gave to Mary who be lieved her brother was dead. He was dead to her, and Jesus was commanding her to let go her belief in death, for belief in death means separation from Godā€”Lifeā€”Good. “He that loseth his life for my sake shall find it, but he that findeth his life shall lose it.” Matt. 10 :39.

You find it difficult to demonstrate money because you think of the many things for which you need money. This makes money hard to get.

But once you learn that you are a spiritual being, not a material man or woman, and that as such you are sustained by spiritual ideas, then you will begin to conceive new ideas, which, when put into action, will produce money.

It is not necessary to constantly think of money in order to demonstrate it. On the contrary, the less you think of what you seem to need on earth and the more you think of what is actually going on in heaven, the sooner you will be out of your difficulties.

The kingdom of heaven is within you and if you would demonstrate money, houses and other things, then you must give of your true nature, the Christ. Christ always declared his unity with the Father and gave thanks.

All you need in order to demonstrate anything is to know the truth about yourself, to see yourself as God sees you. And let me tell you, God does not know anything at all about so-called material men and women, and as long as you believe you are material you will suffer lack and loss. You always were, are now, and always will be a perfect spiritual being, living in a perfect spiritual world, governed by God, the Principle of all Good. This Principle is your own Mind and Mind is Substance; therefore you are now In finite Substance itself, always expressing. This expression consists of the unfoldment of the infinite ideas in your own Infinite Mind so that you are every second of your time receiving the ideas which are living things that you need, and you never have to go after them or take thought for them, for “your Mind knows the things you have need of,” and every idea unfolds in perfect order and with perfect sequence.

Let us not look to our business or profession as a means for making our living, and let us not depend upon individuals, corporations, nor our personal efforts in any direction, but stand on the premise of the one activity, God in expression in and through All, including All, embracing All, enfolding All, and this means fulfillment of everything under the sun and in the heavens. It means that the position we want or think we need exists now in the Presence of Godā€”our Consciousness.

It means that the property we want to sell is already sold ; it means that the answer to all your prayers has always existed in the Presence of God and that we are in the presence of God NOW! Then, beloved, behold your absolute independence and your absolute self-sufficiency, satisfaction and peace.

All is joyous abandon in the knowledge of the infinite Allness of the One Omnipresent, Omniscient, and Omnipotent Presence of God. Truly, “Love (understanding) is the fulfillment of the Law.”

“Be ye therefore perfect as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matt. 5 :48.

“God created man in his own image and God saw everything that he made and behold it was very good.” Gen. 1 :27.

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed to us by His Spirit.” 1 Cor. 2:9.

“The kingdom of heaven is within you,” Luke 17:21 and, it is within every individual’s grasp to know that this means a perfect state of consciousness, realizing all to be Mind and its ideas (the Father and the Son), Good in action.

“The Son can do nothing of himself but what he seeth the Father do.”

Everyone, whether saint or sinner, is now the perfect expression of God, bearing witness, evidence, proof to the Presence of God here and now. The only saint or sinner there could be, would be the individual who saw the saint or sinner! Both are false concepts of the pure, perfect spiritual man in heaven. “What thou seest, thou be’est.” “Mark the perfect man and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” (Psa. 37:37).

Lesson Number Six .

THE SECRET OF DEMONSTRATION

Lesson Number Six

The Secret of Demonstration

ā€œ ā€˜Tis the Eternal’s blessing that brings wealth, and never does it bring trouble as well.”

“Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word which proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

“O Lord, how manifold are thy works ! in wisdom hast thou made them all : the earth is full of thy riches.”

Most people take up the study of Truth with one purpose in mind,ā€”to get something; to get a healing from some sort of a disease and to get thingsā€”to demonstrate possessions. But one will never see the Truth until he gets the “getting” belief out of his mind.

Looking for the Truth with the idea of obtaining something tends to delay your demonstration.

If you believe you have difficulties, you are not knowing the Truth about yourself, and your consciousness is “a house divided against itself.” You cannot see Truth demonstrated until “your eye be single” ā€”until you see undivided Presence, God, Good, in expression as the All-Presence, All-Power, All-Substance, and All-including-All.

You are this All-Presence, you are the finished Kingdom, because you are the consciousness of Godā€”God in action.

Let us be happy, watch God work, and get ourselves out of His way. One does not acquire Truthā€”Truth is the established Principle of Being, and you appear to become aware of this, or to discover its existence, just as the principle of mathematics has been discovered but was never acquired.

Now, one must harmonize his thoughts by practicing the Presence of Godā€”that is, by actively thinking of God and His spiritual man, otherwise stated as: “I and the Father are one” ; “The Son can do nothing of himself but what he seeth the Father do”; “The Father worketh hitherto and Iwork.” This is Mind in action, your Mind, your God; God’s action is your established consciousness right now, and all you need to strive for is just to become aware of this Truth about yourself. As you continue in this method of prayer you will find that the sense of difficulties and problems will leave your consciousness. Your awareness of Truth constitutes your individual expression of Life.

“In my Father’s house are many mansions” (many states of awareness). But, thank God, “the path of the just is as a shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” In absolute fairness, and lest we be a stumbling block to the children with our absolute statements, be it understood that all this striving to get something, whether it be health or possessions, rightly interpreted, is truly the spiritual man in heaven actively expressing God; but, those “who see as through a glass darkly” believe they must seek after things from the human sense point of view.

We know that everyone is right from his own point of view, so we really cannot say that anyone is wrongā€”we say that everyone is doing the best he knows. Let it here be emphasized that the Law of demonstration which Jesus taught was : “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added.” Notice, “the things are added.” The human sense way of working is “putting the cart before the horse,” is it not? Oh yes, because that sense which is false says we must strive to obtain things. “Ye look for the loaves and fishes,” was the rebuke of Jesus to those in that state of consciousness. The real problem of the day is to know how to get rid of this false human sense which is the parent of all human suffering.

You cannot get rid of that which does not exist, for does not Paul say, “If a man thinketh himself to be something when he is nothing he deceiveth himself.” If you believe that you are a material being subject to sin, sickness, poverty and death, you are deceiving yourself; there is no material man to have trouble.

There is but one man, spiritual, perfect and divine, the image and likeness of God, and you are either believing this to be the Truth about your being or you are believing that you are a flesh and blood and bones man, and you recall that Jesus said : “As a man thinketh, so is he.” So you are under your own law of belief up to the time that you discover the Truth of your being. “Awake thou that sleepest,” is the clarion call of Spirit to all who are enshrouded in their graveclothes of belief in matter. “And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The name, or nature of the Lord is omnipresent Spirit, and you want to strive to reach this point of conviction because if you wish God to hear your prayers you must talk in His language.

For instance, if you are sick, do not ask God to heal sickness, for He knows nothing about it, but convince yourself of the perfect health and harmony of God as All-Presence.

If you are in financial distress, do not ask God to help you pay your debts, but strive to realize God as infinite Wealth or Substance everywhere present and manifesting.

This true kind of a realization makes your prayer and its answer one complete whole. In fact, your realization is the actual demonstration.

John quotes Jesus as giving us a specified way to pray if we would receive : “Ask in my name.” Contemplate the statement, “The Father and I are one,” and you will receive a direct revelation as to the meaning of it. “The Father and I,” means Mind and its idea, and man is Mind’s idea of itself.

Accordingly, man never was anything other than the Son of God, having the same nature as the Father, and because of their unity, man is all and has all that God is. “Son, thou art ever with me and all that I have is thine.” All that you need in order to demonstrate anything is to know the Truth about yourself. A so-called human being only seems to exist by himself and to have to depend upon material resources. These appearances are false, for Infinite Spirit is sustaining the real man, the “I” of you, eternally.

The Infinite resources of Spirit are available to man because of his relationship to God, the real Source of supply. If you would demonstrate supply, you must see yourself as God sees you, not in lack and limitation, but as a living expression of His ever active Substance or Supply. In other words, stop trying to get things, and claim the eternal Truth, that you are now Infinite Substance, and let your Substance express itself in forms of money or whatever you desire it to be.

When you plant your garden, the vegetables do not come from without just because you have placed the seeds in the soilā€”they are expressions or fruitage of the seeds sown.

When you conceive the idea for any good, why should you look to the outside when your idea (seed) is within your Mind?

And every idea recognized and accepted contains the law of its own fulfillment. Always remember this when you are trying to demonstrate: you cannot possibly desire a thing that has not already been fulfilled ; you cannot create or bring about a single thing that is not already created and exists now as a finished, complete and perfect thing (idea) in you.

When you become conscious of a thing you desire, do not continue to desire, hope, wish, and long for it, but do as Jesus said, “Believe that ye receive, and ye shall have it.” As long as you continue to desire instead of accepting, you believe in lack instead of fulfillment.

Since the nature of Mind is to manifest any idea impressed upon it, if your idea is one of “desire” instead of “fulfillment”, you will continue to experience the “desire” instead of the “fulfillment” of the thing you desire. When your mind becomes conscious of an idea, you have actually received a living thing itself, for ideas are realities to consciousness, ā€”and remember there is no outside to consciousness.

It is of vital importance to know that every idea you receive contains within itself its own identity ā€”shape and color of the speciesā€”for ideas are things.

One who does not know this finds himself outlining, ā€” that is, visualizing and decreeing what shape and color his ideas shall have, and perhaps wondering where he will get the money to pay for them when they manifest. No idea is dependent upon any other idea (money) for its expression.

God supports and sustains the functioning of all His ideas and does not need the help of mortal man to assist Him.

When you receive an idea, give thanks and forget about it if you want to see the “things added.” Be most sure that you take no thought of yourself as to the “things added,” for that would obstruct God’s work. This instruction is absolutely scientific and, therefore, demonstrable. “Be anxious for nothing, but be instant in prayer” (acknowledge the idea and give thanks).

Lesson Number Seven

MONEY

Lesson Number Seven

Money

Money  is God. Your coin and currency are spiritual identities, therefore they are Spirit, and Spirit is God. We always speak from the basis of the unity of the idea with its symbol or form, for any idea always contains within itself its form, color, and so on. Otherwise an idea would be an abstract non-entity.

It would be wise indeed for the student to examine himself on this all-important point to ascertain for himself whether or not he understands why he does not have to outline, and indeed, must not attempt to outline any idea received.

“I of myself do nothing, it is the Father indwelling he doeth the works.”

Demonstration is not the result of any particular method of thinking, but is the natural sequence of understanding the truth about yourself.

Every object your so-called physical eyes behold in the so-called material realm of manifestation bears evidence to a living idea in Mind, whether it is gold, silver, currency, or any other visible object. The point you want to keep clearly in your mind when you want to demonstrate something is the fact that symbol and idea are one, for you really cannot separate any idea from its form or identity except in your thoughts and if you do not understand this fact, you will likely find yourself trying to demonstrate from the basis of separation of the idea from its form. In other words, you will work from the basis of symbols aloneā€”and a symbol as a symbol or object is a dead thing; therefore, working from this false basis of separation, you will continue to demonstrate separation from your good.

Lack and limitation in every direction will be your lot. Now when one gains an understanding of the unity of idea and form, “the things are added” ; that is, the so-called material man physically sees the “loaves and fishes multiplied.” What actually takes place and all that takes place is that you as individualized consciousness have received an idea, or we may say you have become aware of an idea of good. Consciousness contains all ideas, the infinite ideas of infinite Minds with their forms and color.

In order to demonstrate anything all you have to do is to know the truth about yourself. When you know who you are, you know what  money is and you will always have plenty of money in your possession.

If you believe you are material, then you would depend upon material money for your substance, and the world says money is scarce, hard to get, and you have to work hard for it, and so on. Solomon says : “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding, for the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver and the gain thereof than of fine gold. She is more precious than rubies and all the things thou canst desire, and not to be compared unto her.” Solomon was referring to the clear perception of Truth. He was referring to the presence of infinite ideas in Mind, infinite realities that have life, form, and color, and individual identity, and which are real to consciousness.

We see or receive these living things according to our receptivity to Truth, the amount of time we spend in prayer, and our spirit of sincerity and consecration. After all, it is divine Principle that we demonstrate instead of money and things.

Substance is the divine idea of money and things, and Substance isGodā€”oneness.

Substance is the reality of you. Now, do you not see your true relationship to everything in the universe ? If the reality of you is Substance and the reality of money is also Substance, and Sub stance is indivisible, then you are one with all the money in the world.

It is all yours now to draw upon and use. So you see you must work for a realization of Substance rather than for money. Money is a form or identity of Substance and naturally accompanies your realization of Substance. Now, you see, you are the very Substance of everything you desire. “I and the Father are one.” (Substance). You are both the giver and the receiver, and the incomparable glory of knowing that you do not have to go outside of yourself for anything is simply beyond human expression, but such is actually the case.

You realize that you are Self-supporting, Self-sustaining, Selfsufficient in every way, having absolute independence and freedom, and, of course, peace.

Money is dependent upon Substance for its existence, and we say Substance is omnipresent. Then, wherever Substance is, money is, so there cannot be a scarcity of money any more than there can be a scarcity or lack of Substance. Be it remembered always that idea and manifestation are one unit. You must never depend upon money to demonstrate your other desires because no idea is dependent upon another for support.

Every idea is always perfect and complete in itself and dependent upon nothing save its own intelligence for expression. “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Cor. 4:18).

“Man does not live by bread alone but by every word which proceeds out of the mouth of God.”

Try to see that your consciousness is the mouth of God, for truly it is that “door of utterance” or channel which Godā€”Mindā€”uses to reveal the things (ideas) of itself.

This God or Mind which I speak of is your Mindā€” your Godā€”You are your own Source of infinite Good. You can begin at once to prove this for yourself. Take your stand, set yourself, and declare that you are going to trust it and depend upon it, and you will get immediate results.

Always maintain the all-important point in consciousness that you are not material and therefore not dependent upon jobs or money, but that you are spiritual and dependent upon and sustained by spiritual ideas which unfold to you when you turn in thought and acknowledge the one Mind as All-in-All, the only Mind, omniscient, omnipotent, and infallible. The revelation of any idea to consciousness completes the demonstration because fulfillment precedes conception and never follows it.

Throughout the Scriptures much stress is laid on the necessity of our obedience to the divine fiat. We are conjoined to “harken,” to “walk,” to “obey” and to “accept.” A gift is not a gift until we accept it. “Unless ye acknowledge Me (accept the idea) ye can in no wise enter the Kingdom of God” (you will not express your good).

It is well to remember that there are infinite ideas present now that have never been acknowledged, and they cannot manifest until they are acknowledged.

The main reason they are as yet unacknowledged is that man has not known the Truth of his being.

“Let the Lord be magnified which hath  pleasure in the prosperity of His servant (Ps. 35:7).

“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” (Ps. 24:1).

This being true, it is evident that we deceive ourselves if we look to anyone or anything but God for provision, for He is the only Possessor, and because of our unity with Him we are forever provided for abundantly. There is always a perfect circulation of ideas in Mind, so that man receives the ideas he needs in perfect order and sequence and always at the right time. Thus the “prepared table” visioned by David is ever before us, and “in the face of our enemies,” (the appearances of lack and limitation), the Father (Mind) is ever ordering “the fatted calf” for us.

“Before they call I will answer.” Then, why all the worry, the hurry, the strain, the strife, the fear, and the anxiety? “Say not ye, there are yet four months and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes (vision) and look on the fields (behold the infinite ideas of Mind) for they are white already unto harvest.” (Jno. 4:35). Thus Spirit assures man of his completeness now and, further, invites him to “Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matt. 25:34).

“Even so must the Son of man be lifted up.” Humanity’s flesh concept of the perfect, complete, and spiritual Son of God must be lifted up, redeemed until we behold as face to face, God beholding Himself. “This is the day of salvation,” but it has to be accomplished by the individual.

With what are you identifying yourself? Idea or symbol? Remember, the idea is your saviorā€”your Redeemer, the symbol is your Judas. Watch what you take into your consciousness for it reflects whatever you place there, in your everyday experience, the Law of Mind being : “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.

Lesson Number Eight

BODYā€”THE TRUTH ABOUT IT

Lesson Number Eight

BODYā€”THE TRUTH ABOUT IT

“Whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.” (1 Cor. 11 :27-30).

The spiritual interpretation of the above scriptural text will be included in this lesson. “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the laws of the flesh.” (Gal. 5:16).

How are we to “walk in the Spirit ” unless we realize that we are Spirit? And how can we realize that we are Spirit until we think, feel, and act as though we actually live in heaven? And what does it mean to “fulfill the laws of the flesh?” The laws of the flesh are sin, dis ease, and death. Anyone who is aware of the fact that he is Spirit redeems himself from the “judgment” of the laws of the flesh; that is, his knowledge of the true nature of his being dissolves his false human sense concept of his real spiritual identity, and he is set free from disease and death. “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.” (1 Cor. 15:44).

In human belief there “is sown a natural” or material sense of body, but when one attains spiritual understanding the human sense concept “is raised” to a recognition of a “spiritual body.” This is the resurrection of the false human sense concept of a fleshly body from the death of false belief. It seems easy to declare the perfection, the completeness, and the harmony of Life, but it appears difficult to apply this to your body. Why? Because you do not know the Truth about your body.

The so-called human being believes he is a spirit living in a material body. In the 17th chapter of Luke, verses 36 and 37, we find a deep, mystical implication of the Truth about the body in these words : “Two men shall be in the field ; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And the disciples said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.” In the spiritual sense, “eagles” symbolize high spiritual ideas, but in the material sense “eagles” mean vultures that devour, destroy, and consume. Now then, let every individual answer the question for himself, “Where is my body?” That is, what is your understanding about your body? If you still believe you have a flesh and bones body, your body will be devoured and consumed by the vultures of sin, disease, and death, but if you know the Truth about your body you will be aware of the presence of the body of right ideas which is the spiritual body.

The deep instruction involved in this teaching of Jesus was that when the Son of man appeared (the true idea about God and Man) it would dissolve the false concept of spiritual man, thus “one would be taken and the other one left.” Right here I want to make the statement that spiritual man and spiritual body are one and the same thing. You are not a spiritual being in a material body, nor a spiritual body. The “form” of your body is your identity in Heaven, but understand, even your “form” is also an idea and it is omnipresent because it is an idea, so you and your identity are pure Omnipresent Spirit !

You are not confined to the “form” the human sense sees any more than the radio wave is confined to one radio

Contemplate the nature of any idea; for instance, take the numerical idea, 2. Where is it? It fills all space. It is everywhere present in Mind and available to everyone in the world, and it always is its own identity, is it not?

So it is with you. You are God’s idea of Himself, and everywhere that God is you are, and be it remembered your identity or form is there too.

Idea and its form or identity can never be separated. The contemplation of this will lead you into the infinite realization that you,ā€”yes, you,ā€”constitute the All-Presence of God! His One Infinite Form; God’s identity!

In Romans 12, verse 5, Paul, speaking from the true basis of the unity of all in One, says: “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and everyone members one of another.” Christ is the Lord’s body, and we are all one in Christ. Christ is the expression or manifestation of God, and it is the manifestation of God that bears witness to the Presence of the Creator or Source of Being.

A further contemplation of the nature of Christ reveals that Christ is the activity of God, or That Father in action. I like to call this action Advanced Lessons in Absolute Science 85 consciousness, and it is up to us to attain this vision. Speaking from the human sense basis, it is easy to see that the so-called material concept of body is a reflection of your human consciousness, and the human consciousness is no more than a belief in sin, disease, and death.

Now, let us arise and claim the true identity of our own bodies; then shall we see our bodies radiant with beauty and perfect health, and then shall we keep our bodies for evermore. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” (1 Cor. 3:16 and 17).

You must love your body and never hate it, or desire to get rid of it or out of it. Really you can not get rid of it or out of it. The only thing you can get out of, or get rid of, is your human, false sense concept of body and that is the thing which is embalmed and buried at funerals. “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also has given unto us the earnestness of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Cor. 5:1, 2, 4-8). This is Paul’s way of stating that there is only one infinite body and it cannot be sick or diseased.

Our acknowledgment of this infinite Truth is law unto any case of physical inharmony, because in the practice of healing we deal with false beliefs, never with sick people. There is no personal patient and no personal practitioner. Our declaration of Truth or treatment is the enforcement of the Law of harmony and perfection. It is also the extinction of the belief in the existence of a so-called mortal mind.

The only place to meet error is in the realm of thought. Evil is not a thing, but an apparent false belief. The only sickness that one can ever have is his thought that he is sick. If one were actually sick he would never recover.

All is Infinite Spirit and its infinite manifestations, so there is no place nor substance that can be occupied by disease. There is no mortal mind to suggest a false belief called disease; there is only one Mindā€”God, and it is always the law of harmony and perfection to everything in existence.

According to the law of correspondences every part or organ of the so-called human body is an idea of God and all there is to any organ is the Truth about it. Because it is really mental it cannot be touched by disease or pain. All God’s ideas are perfect forever, and they all work together in harmony, giving man joy and happiness, because God governs the functioning of his ideas.

None of God’s ideas (organs of the body) can ever get out of place, be operated on, hurt or lost. They are permanently held in place by divine Principle. “God made man upright, but man has sought out many inventions.” (Ecc. 7:29). “In metaphysics the word ‘form’ means ‘identity’ and the word ‘color’ means ‘distinguishing mental characteristics’, the precise nature of which in any given case may be, as yet, unknown to human sense, but will be discovered as human sense becomes more spiritual.

The ideas ‘four,’ ‘seven,’ etcetera, have mental identity (spiritual ‘form’) but no shape. So with all metaphysical ideas or realities. As material knowledge diminishes and spiritual understanding increases, real objects will be seen mentally instead of materially.” It is recommended that students procure a copy of “Life Understood,” by F. L. Rawson, and study on page 575 the spiritual realities of man (body).

Lesson Number Nine

INDIVIDUAL COMPLETENESS

Lesson Number Nine

INDIVIDUAL COMPLETENESS

ā€œUnto  every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.”  “till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:7, 13).

“Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” (Gen. 1:26). The words “us” and “our” mean that God is both FatherMother, and the Child, again called Principle, left out every reference to the fact that God is both masculine and feminine, except in the above text they admit that Deity is both male and female. The feminine element of God’s nature has been suppressed just as women have been suppressed and been thought inferior

Women will not gain their freedom until they understand that God is both male and female, and that the completeness of man is to be found in seeing mental likeness to God.

If God, the divine “us,” is one, then man as his image and likeness must reflect or manifest His completeness.

Since God is Mind, then Father-Mother God must be mental, not physical, and the terms male and female must refer to qualities of Mind.

Truth, wisdom, and power are the male qualities of God and Love; intuition and virtue are the female qualities of God. The union of these male and female qualities of God consummates the mystical marriage of the Bride with the Lamb and this union produces the Son; hence, when we speak of the Trinity of God, we see Father, Mother, and the Child, again called Principle, Idea, and Expression, and this is all yourself. Thus it is that God, Divine Mind, is the Creative Principle containing His own creation and is forever expressed in Man, the sum total of right ideas. Hence, “Let them have dominion” (right ideas) over false concepts. In proportion as we acknowledge and accept these in our daily life, will we “put off the old man with his deed and put on the new,” for this agreement means mastership over everything, and we have to master every belief contrary to Truth. “Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.” The uttermost farthing is self surrendered to the Allness and Completeness of your Christ-Self.

What is your Christ-Self? The perfect and complete image of God. To be the exact image of God you must partake of his very nature or characteristics, and we perceive that God is Mind, the Mind that includes both the male and female characteristics.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him ; male and female created he them.” (Gen. 1 :27).

This means that God did not create separate males and females, but he created the spiritual being with both the male and female mental qualities so that every individual is as complete and perfect as God is forever. “The same yesterday, today, and forever.” “There is neither male nor female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Gal. 3:28).

Right here let the student examine himself in an effort to determine whether or not he has discovered these qualities within himself, and let your mode of procedure be to contemplate the nature of God as your Father-Mother. In other words, you are the offspring of the union of the male and female qualities of Mind. The female has held herself down and been more or less dependent upon the male, because of the lack of development of her male qualities of mind, namely, truth, power, and wisdom. The male has always been considered more or less brutal and dominant because he has not developed his female qualities of mind.

Occasionally one meets an individual so complete within himself that he expresses both sides of his nature. He may be a powerful manifestation of the male qualities of Mind and yet be so refined and loving that he is a joy and delight in his home as well as a perfect business associate. Such a man is a success in life. Then we have marvelous females who are not only loving mothers and wives, but are also holding responsible positions in the business world.

Today we have women sharing the responsibilities of our nations who are just as capable as their male associates. Why? Because they have balanced minds, wherein both the male and female characteristics are developed and blended into one working Whole. Such ones are independent and self-reliant, and they always succeed in their undertakings. Many people have just naturally developed these qualities, but do not realize the real significance behind it all. It really is not a phenomenal thing. It is perfectly natural. All of us should manifest Christ and will when we surrender our false beliefs to spiritual perception.

As long as a person believes he is separate from any other being or thing he will continue to function separation and lack in his daily experience. For instance, nothing will prevent you from demonstrating money (Substance) any more than a belief in separate males and females. Why is this? To begin with, God is Substance, Mind, both male and female in one unified Substance. To believe that you are a separate male or female is to function separation or lack in your own consciousness and your manifestation will be one of lack.

Money is the idea of Substance expressed. Substance cannot be divided for God is Substance. If you do not want to demonstrate lack, then you must find complete Substance within your own consciousness. Since Mind, Substance, includes both male and female, you must discover that your Mind is the same Mind, since you are the divine image.

How do you accomplish this? If you appear as a male it is because the male qualities of Mind are objectified in that particular form. If you appear as a female it is because those qualities are objectified. Know this: There is no mortal mind to suggest a belief in sex. Sex means division and Spirit is One. When we understand the eternal completeness of God’s man, there will be no more unhappy marriages nor a lack of Substance.

“What God hath joined together let not man put asunder.” In Divine Mind, your Mind, the male and female qualities are eternally wedded. In one’s personal experience the marriage ceremony may or may not appear, but whether or not it has yet been your experience in the world of relationships, the fact remains that each one of us has been married throughout eternity.

The so-called human marriage is but the symbol of the true spiritual union for “it is according to the pattern showed to thee in the mount.” ā€”He. 8:5.

“The children of this world marry and are given in marriage; but they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage.” (Luke 20:34-35). The children of this world marry because they have a sense of separation and believe that if they unite with another they will gain something.

Heaven, being a perfect state of realization, does not admit separation. In heaven all are One, for God is All and includes All. Heaven means realization of Truth about God and His creation. A perfect union of male and female in marriage on this plane comes about when the individual has realized his or her own completeness to the extent that he or she manifests those qualities and appears to unite with them in marriage. “As it is in heaven so is it also in the earth.” The realization of the true idea is always followed by “the signs” or symbol. We have records of many such marriages of holy companionship.

Why do individuals appear to experience the sufferings of the divorce evil?  Why is an apparently good and innocent man or woman deserted by his or her companion? So-called human beings marry because they believe their lives are incomplete without each other.

(Note: Any false idea of incompleteness has as its basis the true idea of Completeness.) After they marry, this false belief of incompleteness begins to manifest itself as criticism and fault-finding in each other.

Could they but understand that Mind is a Law of expulsion to everything unlike itself and when they form inharmonious concepts about persons, places, things, and situations the Law of Mind, which acts as an eliminator, starts to wipe out such appearances! In the removal of them we may see death, separation, divorce, lack, and all manner of unpleasantness until the field is clear.

Supposing one is divorced, single, widowed, or even married, any human sense situation or condition only designates what appears in your dream sense of existence, but they all have as their true basis completeness, or the eternal union of the masculine and feminine phases of Being.

Lesson Number Ten

ETERNAL LIFE

Lesson Number Ten

ETERNAL LIFE

Every member of the human race has a glorious destiny. One’s divinity is inescapable.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that published salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth.”

Isaiah and all the other prophets had glimpses of our glorious destination, but like the modern preachers, they were mostly caught up and entangled by the scenery along the wayside. The first chapter of Genesis reveals our destination as our starting point and declares the perfection: “And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.”

Revelation shows the journey’s end and proclaims the same perfection: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes ; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.” ā€”Rev. 21 :4.

The way to make this journey is not by enduring suffering and sorrow but by reversing (repenting), which is accomplished by turning- in thought to God and heaven and declaring :the: appearance of suffering to be no thing and God to be All in all. When we begin to deal with God as Infinite Mind, then we find that the direct route to God is through Idea which is the Christ. “And all things were made by Him and without Him was not made anything that was made.”

Since God is Infinite Mind and this is the basis by which “all things were made,” we may pause right here to contemplate a pure mental kingdom wherein everything is a manifestation of Mind, an Idea (permanent eternal verity) of Mind, and in Mind, and while contemplating this true vision of God’s creation we may declare with Isaiah: “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid ; and the calf and the young lion and the fading together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed ; their young ones shall lie down together ; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the suckling child shall play on the hole of the asp and the weaned child shall put his head in the cockatrice’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain ; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord (Love) as the waters cover the sea.”ā€”Isa. 11:6-7-8-9.

“The knowledge of this world is foolishness with God.” The knowledge of this world constitutes the “mist that went up,” otherwise defined as the false, so-called human sense conception of life which has to be lifted up. To gain the true conception of Life (God and His Creation) we have to acquaint ourselves with the ideas behind all things seen. “The things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” ā€”2 Cor. 4:18.

In the beginning (at the foundation of all) is God and all that follows is revelation. God reveals Himself to us by means of us (consciousness). God is unknowable Himself but is divinable through idea; hence, any idea bears witness to the Principle of Lifeā€”God. Therefore, in order to know God we must identify Him with an idea, and ideas are spontaneously and instantaneously given unto us. We never have to go after any idea or wait for it. “No man cometh to the Father except by me.” Man is an idea of Mind. He is Mind’s idea of Itself and ever bears witness to the Presence of Mindā€”God.

Man “lives, moves, and has his being in Mind.” There is no birth nor death in Mind. Man is the image and likeness of Mind, hence, omnipresent and incorporeal. This can be illustrated by the relative principle of mathematics. Take the numeral 5 ; it is an idea of the principle of mathematics; it is the image and likeness of mathematics and it is omnipresent. It can disappear but never dies or is born. Five will never cease to be five. This proves the eternal existence of Principle and its idea. As an outline it is simply a symbol or form of understanding the principle of mathematics. It is quite the same with man. He is the manifestation of God or Principle, the image and likeness of God or Principle, and ever bears witness to the Presence of God or .Principle. Man is the consciousness by which God is conscious of Himself, for God ever reveals Himself unto Himself by means of consciousness (the Son). Principle and its idea are never separate from each other, neither is man ever separate or apart from God, hence, “I and the Father are one.”

The numerals, or the image and likeness of mathematics, can appear and disappear but do not pass on or out of any place or plane. All we can see is our concept of the spiritual man and our concepts are offsprings of our own understanding. Death is only a concept in consciousness. “Let the dead bury the dead.” (Matt. 8:22.) In order for death to be an actuality we must know. Can we know that we are dead ? You cannot know anything that does not exist in consciousness. It is only our concept that appears to be dead. The one that appears to be dead is not dead, but our concept is dead. Those we believe to be dead are hid with Christ in God. We bury or cremate our concept of a spiritual being. There are no dead.

The material man’s concept then, is only a form of understanding Spirit ā€”God. We have to bring every concept captive to the Christ (true idea). Any thinking from the basis of the world is unscientific and wrong for it is putting the cart before the horse. Any concept that falls short of your divine idea has to be denied. This develops consciousness. Praying without ceasing is our continual acknowledgement of our divinity.

DEATH A DELUSION

“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (1 Cor. 15:26). Death will cease forever when we change our beliefs about life from the material to the spiritual. Death is nothing but a passing from one dream sense of life to another and its very basis of existence is Life, and Life is God.

Can God, Life, lose existence? The Bible says, “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection.” (1 Cor. 15:21).

In other words, death was conceived by man and man must resurrect or rouse himself from this false conception of death before he can fully demonstrate eternal Life. Death is nothing but a belief in another power aside from God, and one who has the realization of the One Power has dominion over this lie called death and can “raise the dead.”

In the Bible there are seven cases of “raising the dead” by Jesus, Elijah, Elisha, Paul and Peter

“The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life.” (Romans 6:23). “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.” (Prov. 21:16).

“For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2).

“To be carnally minded is death.” (Romans 8:6). Knowledge that God is Life and that there is nothing else, no sin, no disease, no death, as God is All in all, will put a stop to the experience called death.

“Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” (John 11:26). It is quite evident from Jesus Christ’s demonstration over death that there is nothing to be destroyed but an apparent and temporary false sense.

“We be many members of the Lord’s Body”; therefore you will never lose your body. The question is often asked, “How about life after death?” If there is no death, how is one to explain what happens after death ? It is only logical to presume that since you do not actually die you do not leave here except in belief, and the belief that the departed have gone prevents those remaining from seeing them. F. L. Rawson states in “Life Understood” that when one individual departs there appears in his place a new born child ; thus the perfect balance of the birth and death rate is maintained.

In plainer words, the instant you die, you are born again to begin a new phase of the same material existence, for the human mind is not changed by death; it only sees life from a different angle this time. Born again as a baby, it moves onward through childhood to adulthood, and if the individual does not in this cycle attain spiritual perception, he again goes through the experience of death. This scientifically refutes the theory of reincarnation and transmigration, proving that there is no ego-being or self to be migrated from body to body.

This Truth also proves the fallacy of the theory of Spiritualism, for souls in different states of false consciousness can no more communicate with each other than can one who is awake enter into the conscious human experience of one who is asleep and dreaming

God being individually reflected by the one who has seemingly died is certainly continually reflected, and his reflection must therefore be, again counterfeited in the human concept of a human being. In other words, the experiences of the so-called material world are nothing more than a series of fleeting dream pictures, false views of the real world seen as what are called successive periods of history.

It has been falsely designated a law of repetition, but it is no law at allā€”only a habit which is soon to cease. We find in the Bible one man after another seen as successive dream pictures, types of someone else to follow. Abel, Abraham, Joseph, Joshua, Jeremiah, Moses, Solomon, all types of the spiritual man that was later seen as Jesus of Nazareth.

Reincarnation, which is a dogmatic theory concerning the human ego or self, is false, but rebirth is true. The account in Matthew 17:10-13 concerning Elijah’s appearance and work as John the Baptist substantiates re birth: “And the disciples asked Him saying,

Why then do the scribes say that Elias must first come? He answering said, Elias indeed comes and will restore all things. But I say unto you, that Elias is already come and they knew him not but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.”
